Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
Effective date: 5 October 2021
We are pleased to advise our mandatory vaccination policy for all customers and Walking Country staff.
The policy will apply for all departures from the 1 April 2022.
The policy was developed in line with the Northern Territory border restrictions published by Chief Minister Michael Gunner on the 15 September 2021 outlining “tough border protection measures for unvaccinated people trying to come to the Territory” and “doing whatever it takes to protect vulnerable remote communities”.
Walking Country’s mandatory vaccination policy aims to comply with global regulations and industry standards as well as protecting our community in particular the vulnerable indigenous population of the Northern Territory. We pride ourselves in the close relationship we have with our indigenous partners and the opportunity to share their amazing products and culture with our valued customers.
It is our highest priority to ensure the safety of all our customers, partners and staff.
Vaccination Policy Update – From 1 April 2022
Walking Country will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to travel. This can be provided by emailing our reservations staff via [email protected]. Walking Country reserves the right to cancel a booking at 100% of the cost if the vaccination confirmation is not provided in the above timeframe. For any other cancellation policies, please refer to our booking Terms and Conditions.
Please note, all passengers must be fully inoculated before travel commences. The inoculated period is different for each vaccine so please check the relevant medical advice carefully before starting your journey. Walking Country reserves the right to deny passengers to travel with us if the above is not adhered to. Please ensure to bring valid proof to show our guides at the start of the tour. Exemptions of this policy will be considered on a request basis for individuals unable to receive the vaccination due to medical reasons. A medical certificate must be provided at least 14 days prior to travel.
We are reviewing our policies regularly to comply with all global regulations and industry standards in an attempt to resume more stable business operations.
This policy will give our passengers and staff peace of mind of travelling with other vaccinated people to reduce the risk of contracting the virus and will enable Walking Country to continue to showcase the beautiful Northern Territory.
