OTHER IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
WEATHER AND TEMPERATURES
You will need to prepare for extremes of season. Early mornings can be as low as -4ºC, however temperatures are generally between 0ºC and 10ºC. Daytime temperatures are in the mid to high 20’s, however extremes into the mid 30’s are common particularly in May and late August into September.
Rain is not common, however frosts and dews can make early mornings extremely damp. Light water proofs or similar are considered wise.
The cold of winter restricts enormously any potential interaction with wildlife. Native Dingo will be heard (maybe seen) as will Rock Wallabies and other animals/reptiles. Our tour leaders are constantly on the lookout for all forms of wildlife to further enhance your experience with us.
MOBILE PHONES, CAMERAS, CAMCORDERS, ETC
As there is no mobile phone reception on the Larapinta, we would advise you to leave your phone with your luggage at your accommodation in Alice Springs. There is no 240 volt power available either so it is recommended that additional batteries be acquired and fully charged before departing Alice Springs.
VALUABLES, CASH, ETC
Taking valuable jewellery or large amounts of cash on tour is not recommended. Ask reception at your Alice Springs accommodation about putting any valuables in their safe storage.
ADDITIONAL TRANSPORT CHARGES
A fee will apply for any passengers who may need transferring to or from a tour for reasons such as an early departure from the tour or a late arrival at the beginning of the tour.
